Although the hockey season is over, Ferris Park is still busy with the juniors running their ‘Try Hockey’ event this year open to Primary 2 girls.

The concept is to allow young prospective players to come along and try out hockey to see what’s involved and if they enjoy it before coming along to join the club in September in the new season.

The Dromore Youth Development officer leads the coaching with numerous coaches and under 15 players helping out to ensure a high coach to player ratio.

The girls were enthusiastic and enjoyed the fun with a lot of new prospective players returning in September. If you are interested in joining Dromore at any age group contact http://www.dromoreladieshockeyclub.co.uk/ or contact Junior co-ordinator Andrea Wilson 07918151265.

The Seniors are enjoying a little downtime from training before pre-season training starts with cricket running at Ferris every Monday from 7.30pm. All seniors players welcome.

A lot of fun and camaraderie is happening and the senior club are also go-karting this month as well as marshalling at the Lisburn 10k and fun run this week.
