Quietly does it...top dog wins Tennent’s Gold Cup at Drumbo

Quietly, trained by Ian Reilly from Navan and owned by the K-S-S-Syndicate, Kent, won the 2015 Tennents Gold Cup at Drumbo Park Greyhound Stadium. In recent weeks a series of fast and furious heats identified the six top dogs for the 2015 Cup Final, with a total prize pot of £10,000 at stake. On finals night, all eyes were on the top prize as the dogs came out of the traps for one of Drumbo Park’s biggest and richest events.

Second place, and £1,250 went to Drumna Castle, owned and trained by Pauline Quinn from Co. Longford.

Third place, and £750 went to ShutThe BackDoor owned and trained by Brendan Matthews from Hilltown, Newry.

The other three dogs who made the final, each received £400.

They were: Common Man, owned by William J. Shaw from Belfast and trained by Margaret Campbell from Dundonald; Blue Cafu owned by Mark Lowther from Hertshire and trained by Joe Hurley from Magherafelt; and Ivy Hill Bart owned and trained by Noel Hehir from Ennis, Co Clare.
