Sevens coming to Judges Road
City of Derry RFC have agreed to organise a special “Clipper Sevens” tournament on Friday night, at 7pm at Judges Road.
It’s understood the special event will be staged to facilitate one Ollie Phillips, the England ‘Sevens’ Captain who is on the crew of one of the Clipper yachts and he is keen to play a game of rugby in every port visited during the current race.
And while the local club has agreed to accommodate Phillips and stage a competitive “sevens” game, it has also agreed to host a Clipper “Sevens” Mixed Tag Rugby Tournament for the crew of the other yachts and, indeed, extend an open invitation to ladies and gents from the City who wish to take part in what will be a fun event on the night which will involve the club’s ladies and gents teams.
