Runners to sign up for marathon warm-up races

With just under 10 weeks to the SSE Airtricity Walled City Marathon on Sunday, May 31, runners are reminded that the warm-up SSE Airtricity 10 miler will be staged out of the Ebrington square site on 
Sunday, April 19.

That is just about three weeks away now and should be a must do for all prospective Marathon runners.

It proved very popular last year with many runners commenting on how valuable it was in their marathon preparations.

Indeed it also attracted a significant number of non-marathoners, keen to take on the 10 mile challenge.

Entries can be made online now by sending your name, gender, age on race day, club and t-shirt size to [email protected].

The entry fee is £15 or 20 euros and in addition to the usual prize structure across the age groups, there will be a special commerative technical t-shirts on offer to all runners.

Entries will of course be taken on race day but as ever pre-entry would be most appreciated by the organising team.

All those who pre-enter can pay their entry fee at Ebrington on race day when they pick up their race pack. This can be done between 10am and 11.30am and the race starts at 12noon.

Meanwhile the Bay Road 5K will take place on Wednesday, April 15th, organised by the City of Derry Spartans club in conjunction with the UU Magee Sports Centre, which once again will serve as race headquarters.

You can then pay the entry fee when you pick up your race pack at the Sports Centre on the night, between 6pm and 7.15pm. The entry fee is £6 or 9 euros.
