Sarsfields set for under-16 replay

SARSFIELDS under-16s will contest their Division 3 All County Championship replay against Middletown on Thursday, October 4 at the Athletic Grounds under lights, (7.30pm throw in).

The young Trasna outfit came through the tough side of the draw and secured victories over Maghery and Tullysarren in the quarter-final and semi-final and led their first encounter with Middletown by a six points margin but were forced to settle for a draw at the finish.

The replay was due to be played on Wednesday night but has been put back a day to the Thursday.

In the drawn game a goal from Micheal McKenna and a converted penalty from Caolin Skelton gave Sarsfields the lead, but it was the form of the Hoops defence which most impressed in a hectic second half.

The young side will again be looking for a big performance from their players against a strong Middletown outfit.
