Shane shines on way to lifting the Charity Cup

Over the past few weeks the players in the Craigavon District Darts League have been competing for the annual Charity Cup with the honours this year going to Drumgor’s Shane Lennon.

Played out over three weeks with three different events, all with the emphasis of raising money for the chosen charity which this year is Macmillan Nurses Cancer research, it was Shane who amassed most points winning two out of the three events played. In week one the Drumgor team of Joe Duff, Pearse Richardson, Shane Lennon, Tony Rutherford and Dee Blaney claimed the 5-a-side competition held in the Foresters beating the Stables 3-0. It was the Celtic Club who hosted the pairs and it was Eamon Duff and Shane Lennon who were victorious claiming the Mairead McGahan Memorial Cup with a 3-0 win over Gareth Bunting and Kevin McNeice. The final event was the Charity Individuals held in Drumgor and Terry Morrow won through putting a stop to Shane Lennon’s potential clean sweep with a 4-0 win in the final. Charity also won with over £1000 raised.
