Sonkei Judo Ballycastle delighted to celebrate their second birthday
With a squad of nearly 40 members the club has grown fantastically in the two years, with many of the members still with the club from its beginning.
In fact it was a double celebration as some of the club members had just returned from taking part in an open competition in Derry where they were proud recipients of medals.

Mark Donald, head coach of the club said: “To have members still here from us opening is a massive achievement, it’s been great to see kids start from nothing and really develop both themselves as people with their approach to training and the techniques we learn in our syllabus.
“The club has a fantastic atmosphere and we offer a great combination of fun with hard training, with a host of ages and mix of boys and girls involved.
“Personally, I would like to thank Alan Ashcroft from Causeway Judo who developed me into a coach and help found the club, as well as Mark Harris our club coach, Paula Donald and Joanne Killough who help with the training nights too.”
