This included a crew from the Portrush parkrun and they all aquitted themselves very well on a dank, damp but reasonably mildish day, with only light winds to contend with.

This Sprint event involved a two mile run, followed by a 10 mile cycle, then a final two mile run to finish, being a continuous event with no break between the three legs, with Gavin Corey being the overall winner in 46:50.

Undoubtably the stars of the show were our own three fantastic ladies, who duly produced the goods with a terrific one, two and three in the Ladies Race.

First in was the, returning from injury, current European Age-Group Champion Sonia Knox (13th in 54:30), followed shortly by the also recuperating but going impressively well, Alison Rankin (17th in 55:36) and then the ever competitive Katherine Woods (22nd in 56:39).

It was also good to see Ballymoney running newcomer and ex-rugby player Andrew Surgenor finish well up and it was also great to see Andy Deal and Brenda Boyle doing very well.

Other Springwell Results were as follows: 19th Andrew Surgenor in 55:43, 23rd Andy Deal in 56:58, 34th Brenda Boyle in 01:02:13, 47th Lynda-Jane Parkhill in 01:05:03, 53rd Mervyn Thompson in 01:06:35, 70th Norma Snelling in 01:10:09, 75th Sharon Bingham in 01:15:40, 76th Sharon Kennedy in 01:17:13
