St Colman’s are starting to find their feet again

This was clearly shown in their match with Dunluce where they went home with a very valuable 6 ½ points.

David Walker set St. Colman’s on their way with a 1 shot win against Uel McKeeman. Allistair Kirkpatrick got Dunluces’ only point when he drew with Aaran Walker, each getting 10 shots. In the second period Aaran Tennant and Martin McAleese (both St. Colman’s) had wins over brothers’ Barry and Rodney Kane.

Loughanreagh go marching on after this win against St. Mary’s. It started well for the home team with David Gaile winning 10-6 against Allister Steele. Nigel Gamble put the visitors one shot in the lead at the break by beating Kevin McNamee 13-8. St. Mary’s fell apart in the second half with both Seamus Doherty and Declan McCann going down heavily to Alan Irwin and Ian Ross respectively.

The Marian recovered from their previous weeks’ defeat with a good win against struggling Finvoy Presbyterian. Adam Hunter had put Finvoy in front with a one shot win over Aidan Cassley, but Gary Meron (Marian) squared the game when he beat Chris Jones by three shots. Brian McAlary (Marian) then beat big Joe Moore and Terrence McGarry gave the Marian the bonus points when he won against Mark Jones (Finvoy).

Second Kilrea are fighting strongly for third place and this win against Ballinrees helps their cause. Nicky McCaw and Alan Paul, put Kilrea in a strong position at the break with wins against William Calvin and Victor Millen (Ballinrees) respectively. Uel Gordon put Ballinrees on the score sheet with a 10-6 shots win in his game with Ivan Smyth. Graham Wilson (Kilrea) then beat Jonathan Kerr to get the bonus points.

The surprise result in Division 2 saw First Coleraine beatBoveedy. Andrew Wallace had put the home team in front when he beat Clifford McLernon (Coleraine) but Bryan Shaw evened things up when he beat Doughie Morrow (Boveedy) 10-5. Jim Campbell eased Coleraine into the lead with a four shots win against Ashley McCahon. John Camac recovered from a bad start to finish only one shot behind Alan Catherwood (Boveedy) but he had done enough to secure the overall win.
