The 16 year old Dalriada schoolboy and Ballymoney Cycling Club Racing Team member will compete in the Junior age group (16-19 years) Championship where he will be one of the youngest competitors racing against triathletes from all over the world.

The race will be on a similar course to last summer’s Olympic Games race based around Hyde Park in central London. It will include a 750m swim in the Serpentine lake, a 20km cycle followed by a 5km run around Hyde Park with the winner taking around one hour to complete.

Chris’s training and racing with his Ballymoney Cycling Club’s, Ulster and National medal winning youth and junior cyclist team mates has greatly improved his cycling performance in triathlon. Chris was recently involved in the 6 race Inter-club series that the Ballymoney team won convincingly from Bann Wheelers, Ballymena, Spires, Bann Valley and Carn Wheelers.

The Olympic champion Alastair Brownlee will also be competing in the World Championship finals against his brother and current world champion Jonathon Brownlee, with both facing stiff competition from Javier Gomez from Spain. The professional’s race will be shown live on BBC television on Sunday 15th Sept.
