Time running out to sign up for Sunday’s TRYathlon

The second annual firmus City of Derry Triathlon is fast approaching and children and teenagers can rest assured they don’t have to miss out on the fun.

Organisers are giving our young sports fanatics the opportunity to take part in the firmus energy ‘TRYathlon’ on Sunday, June 22nd which will include running, cycling and swimming activities in the Templemore Sports Complex.

Organisers, which include Derry City Council, North West Triathlon Club and firmus energy, are calling for parents to register their children before Friday, June 20th to ensure they don’t miss out.

All events are open to children aged 8-15 years with various distances for each group, which are as follows; Primary 8-11 years, Secondary A 11-13 years and Secondary B 14-15 years.

There are three separate events that kids can choose from, namely TRYathlon (Swim-Bike-Run) Duathlon (Run-Bike-Run) Aquathon (Swim-Run).

Children are asked to come to the centre between 8.45am and 9.15am to get ready with the first events beginning 9.45am.

The cost to take part is £8 for non-Triathlon Ireland members and £5 for Triathlon Ireland members.
