Top ten finish and personal best for Larne AC’s Noble

David Noble was the first of a five-strong Larne AC contingent to cross the line at Sunday’s Cookstown half marathon.

Chasing a podium place in the Pure Running Half Marathon series, Noble completed the 13.1-mile event in a personal best 1:23.07 to finish eighth.

Gillian Logan, who is also in the running for a top-three place in the series, was 11th female with a personal best 1:41.30.

Next home was Alan Lockington in a time of 1:58.22. He was followed closely by Stephen McManus who clocked 1:58.25. Norma Johnston ran 2:31.35.

On Saturday Michael McCambridge, Tommy Linton and Helen Murray competed in Loughmacrory Sprint Distance Triathlon.

McCambridge delivered an impressive performance in the 750m swim, 20k bike and 5k run with a time of 1:07:09. It will have served as good preparation for his upcoming Ironman event in Dublin.

Murray finished in 1:15:55 to claim an age group win, while Linton completed the course in 1:22:37.
