The event, sponsored by Acti-Snack and organised by Hi Elbow Triathlon Club, Cookstown District Council and Traad and Ballyronan Ballinderry Development Association, will be over the sprint distance of a 750m swim, a 20km cycle and a 5Km run.

A shorter Super Sprint race, aimed at those new to triathlon, is also being promoted, starting at 12.20pm.

A new addition for the triathlon is a children’s event at 10.30am, designed for young people aged 4–15 years old.

Local triathlon clubs North West TC and 24/7 from Letterkenny will have competitors in the Lough Neagh Triathlon sponsored in Acti-Snack including Donna Philson and Kevin Lafferty from Derry, and Letterkenny’s Kirsty McIlwaine.
