Seapatrick moved to fourth in the Intermediate A table with a hard fought victory away to Laurelvale.

The locals played some lovely football, stroking the ball about the park for the first 25 minutes.

It was however the home team who came closest.

A through ball from the middle of the park found its way to front man Jeff Grant who spurned his effort wide when well placed.

He was unlucky a short time later when keeper Fletcher spilled the slippy ball and as Grant got to the loose ball first skipper Fletcher pulled off a great save to deny the big striker.

At the other end Seapatrick flashed a few efforts across the face of goal with nobody there to get on the end of the final ball.

The game was played at a high tempo with one goal going to be the decider. Midfielder Darren McGrath picked up the ball wide on the left and as he weaved his way into the box was upended for the referee to rightly point to the spot. Damian McParland stepped up and as he placed his penalty low to the keeper's left - the keeper got a hand to the ball but the momentum carried it through to hit the back of the net.

Laurelvale pushed for an equaliser and Seapatrick for a second but both defences stood resolute.

A great team performance by the Village as they fought hard for their victory.
