Winning start in the league for Dunloy FC

DUNLOY got off to a winning start in the Intermediate section of the Ballymena Provincial Football League sponsored by the Michelin Athletic Club.

Dunloy and Ballynure shared three goals in a very closely contested game. Dunloy went in front with Eoghan Scott scoring with a screamer of a 35 yard free kick on the 15th minute.

Half-time saw the single goal still divide the teams then Ballynure got back on level terms when Ross Miskimmin scored on the 73rd minute.

Time was then running down for both teams and a draw looked to be on the cards until Chris Smylie scored the winner for Dunloy on the 82nd minute.

On Saturday August 31, Dunloy are at home against Newtowne in the league.
