Moira Demesne hosts Pipe Band and Highland Dancing Festival

Moira Demesne will host the Lisburn and Castlereagh Pipe Band & Highland Dance Festival 2022 on Saturday September 3 from 10am.

It is managed by the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association Northern Ireland Branch (RSPBANI), together with Pipe Band College Northern Ireland (PBCNI) and the Northern Ireland Highland Dance Association in conjunction (NIHDA) with the Ulster Scots Agency (USA).

Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council is proud to be supporting this musical event that will offer activities for all the family. It is the final event of the local branch’s season calendar and will focus more on a fun day with music, culture and learning.

The 2022 festival will see the introduction of Scottish Country Dancing as well as Pipe Band College Northern Ireland workshops. The branch and its partners are very much looking forward to rounding off a successful 2022 season. The day will also incorporate the RSPBA United Kingdom Adult Solo Drumming Championship hosted by the RSBPANI.

President and Life Ambassador of RSPBANI, Mr Winston Pinkerton said; “I am looking forward with excitement to this festival which will round off our 2022 season.

“This event will showcase our wonderful bands, drum majors and dancers who have made this summer’s championships a treat for everyone. I am extremely pleased with the inclusion of the Pipe Band College who will be delivering some wonderful workshops.

“I know everyone will enjoy this great day at Moira.”
