9. Lough Foyle Path, Ballykelly
Lough Foyle Path is a sheltered area of Ballykelly, seen as a refuge for sailors, sea birds, breeding seals and walkers. For most of the journey you will be walking alongside a freshwater pond with reed beds as well as the expanse of Lough Foyle. Make sure to bring your coat and your dog’s coat.

10. Loughmourne Reservoir, Carrickfergus
Loughmourne Reservoir is located just outside Carrickfergus in Co. Antrim. It is child and dog-friendly, giving both plenty of room to stretch their legs. The walk is 4.3 kilometres long and takes roughly an hour to complete. This is also a very quiet place to walk because visitors don’t usually bump into each other so if you need solitude, here’s the place for it.
