Comic Con makes a welcome return to Lisburn’s Eikon Centre

Comic Con Northern Ireland is returning to Lisburn’s Eikon centre on September 19 and 20, 2026.

Comic Con is one of Europe’s largest pop culture conventions where fans get the chance to meet their heroes, take selfies, get an item signed and hear directly from star guests on stage.

The convention has previously hosted Elijah Wood, Sean Astin and Ian Somehalder.

However, this year’s guest list includes such names as Catherine Tate, Edward James Olmos and even Scooby Doo himself, voice actor, Neil Fanning.

Last year, it is estimated that the event attracted over 18,000 people to the city.

And with that many people being in the area, Alderman James Baird, Chair of Lisburn & Castlereagh Council's Regeneration & Growth Committee believes the event will have a positive impact on the City’s economy.

Mr Baird said: “Comic Con Northern Ireland is a fantastic opportunity to showcase Lisburn and Castlereagh to visitors from across the UK and Ireland.

"Events of this scale bring thousands of people to the area, supporting local businesses and generating valuable economic activity, while also highlighting the Eikon Exhibition Centre as a leading venue for major events.”
