Maternity self referral made easier with new feature in My Care app
Pregnant women can now take their first step towards accessing Maternity care directly through the My Care app, making it easier to begin their maternity journey.
South Eastern Trust Lead Digital Midwife, Karen Gray explained how a woman can now self-refer into Maternity Services using the existing My Care app.
Over 25 per cent of people living in the South Eastern Trust area, have already signed up to the My Care app, which provides patients with secure access to their Health and Social Care information, including appointments, some test results and letters.
Karen said: “Once you have decided which Trust you want to have your baby in, you can complete the self-referral form in My Care.
"As soon as the self-referral form is complete, that information will then be received by the appropriate Maternity Team.
“This is very much a convenient way for a woman to access their Maternity Team and receive their booking appointment.”
