Coffee morning raises £900 for Macmillan nurses

A coffee morning and sale at St. Olcan's Parish Centre, Armoy, has raised £900 for Macmillan Cancer Care.

The event was organised by Margaret McCaughan, from the village, who is no stranger to fund-raising for Macmillan nurses.

She has used the same venue in the past few years and this time round she was delighted with the outcome given the economic climate.

It is a tribute to the standing of Margaret and her family that the coffee morning received such community support.

And Margaret would like to thank all those who supported her and, in particular, for their generosity.

“It was an ideal opportunity for people to come along, have some refreshments and enjoy a morning’s chat,” Margaret told the Times.

She is grateful to those who spent time baking and manning the kitchen and hopes to run the coffee morning next year.
