Combined service at Raloo church

THERE was a good turnout of visiting Sir Knights and Brethern for Sunday’s combined service.

The annual service was organised by Cedar of Lebanon RBP 86, Raloo True Blues LOL 55 and Fourtowns LOL 69 at Raloo Presbyterian Church.

Led by District marshalls (Larne LOL No 1) Brs Jim Weatherup and David Young, and Carnalbana Flute Band, the Sir Knights and Brethern made their way from Raloo Protestant Hall at Mounthill along the Browndod Road.

They then headed up the Raloo Road to the Presbyterian Church at Crosshill, where they were welcomed by Rev Neil Bingham, minister of Raloo.

District Officers present included, from Larne RBP No 4, Wor District Master Paul Gregg, District Treasurer Tommy Marcus, District Registrar David Swann - from Larne LOL No 1, Wor District Master Harry Carter, Dist Chaplain Br Ian Wilson; Dist Treasurer Captain Br Bryans Woods – and the Secretary of the East Antrim Combine, Br Aubrey Crowe.

The offering, in aid of the Lord Enniskillen Memorial Orphans Society, was collected by Br William Jamison, WM LOL 69 and Br Steven McAuley, DM LOL 69.

The organist was Mrs Nance Wallace.

Wor Br Harry Carter, WDM Larne LOL No 1 expressed thanks to the Kirk Session at Raloo for the use of the church.

He also thanked Rev Neil Bingham for conducting the service, accompanist Nance Wallace, Carnalbana Flute Band, the marshalls and all the visiting Sir Knights and Brethern for their support.

It was also announced that the annual service organised by Lily Among Thorns RBP 236 and Woodburn Ivy Leaf RBP 17 would take place in Carrickfergus on the afternoon of Sunday, August 5.
