UUP Assemblyman Robin Swann said he had previously raised concern over the long-term viability of the premises following the removal of the Car Tax office and would be writing to the Stormont Executive’s Finance and Enterprise Ministers “demanding urgent action on this important issue”.

“Now the Education Authority is moving its staff to the former Ballee School site in the town. he said.

“I am now asking that Department of Finance and Personnel officials work in conjunction with InvestNI and the Mid and East Antrim Council to develop County Hall into Grade A Office accommodation. There can be no doubting that such accommodation is currently lacking in Northern Ireland and such a situation would also bring additional employment to the area given the recent spate of job losses which the constituency has suffered,” he said.
