Co Derry company fined £200 for tachograph offence

A Draperstown based company was fined £200 with a £15 offender’s levy at Magherafelt Magistrates Court on Wednesday for failing to download the digital tachograph data from a commercial vehicle.

Prosecuting counsel told the court the offence came to light following an examination carried out by the DVA inspectors on December 4 last year, which showed the company had not downloaded the relevant data within the required timescale.

J&A Renewables Ltd, of Cloane Lane, Draperstown, admitted the charge.

A defence lawyer explained that it had been an oversight on the part of the company which never should have happened.
