‘Beautiful poppy cascade’ illuminated at Larne Army Cadets building

Larne Army Cadets have been remembering the fallen through a number of initiatives.

A poppy cascade, ‘A shining light of remembrance in dark times’, has been created at the unit’s premises in the Co Antrim town.

Young cadets have also been assisting members of the community in the run up to the Covid-hit period of remembrance.

Detachment Commander SMI Johnston said: “A massive well done to Larne Army Cadets and adult volunteers who worked tirelessly over the past month creating a beautiful poppy cascade completed and Illuminated this week at the detachment building in Larne.

“The cadets are also showing a lot of dedication with assistance of parents and guardians leading up to Remembrance week and Armistice Day and are also placing poppy crosses on Commonwealth war graves in cemeteries in Larne, Islandmagee, Ballycary, Raloo, and as far as Glenarm and Carnlough.”
