Dungannon broadcaster Lynette Fay ‘thrilled’ to front Fleadh TV from Sligo

Dungannon broadcaster Lynette Fay says she is “thrilled” to be part of the Fleadh TV presenting team for the third year running.

The TG4 showcase, which was a ratings winner for the channel last year, returns from Thursday 13 to Sunday 16 August for four nights of the very best in Irish traditional and contemporary music.

Lynette is one of a trio of all female presenters as she broadcasts live from Fleadh Cheoil in Sligo, joined by newcomer Máire Treasa Ni Dhubhghaill and Sligo music legend Cathy Jordan of Dervis, with acts including Frances Black, Frankie Gavin & De Dannan confirmed.

Speaking to the TIMES ahead of the show’s launch, Lynette said: “I love the experience and adrenaline rush of live television and Fleadh TV is one of the highlights of the year. I love traditional music and I’m so lucky to be involved in the scene when it’s at its healthiest and most popular for decades. I look forward to meeting friends old and new on the streets of Sligo!”

The former St Patrick’s Academy student will return to the BBC Studios in Belfast in the next few weeks to work on the Radio Ulster 40th anniversary celebrations.
