Eglinton roads blocked until June

TWO roads in Eglinton will remain off limits to traffic until June as work continues on the dualling of the A2 Maydown to City of Derry Airport.

Sections of Craigbrack Road and Brisland Road just outside the village will be blocked to traffic for four months as construction work takes place.

Roads Service issued a public notice stating that the Department of Regional Development (DRD) is satisfied traffic on the Craigbrack Road and the Brisland Road shall be prohibited or restricted under Article 7 (1) and (3) of the Road Traffic Regulation (NI) Order 1997 to facilitate works involving the A2 dualling.

"The effect of this prohibition will be to exclude vehicles from using: Craigbrack Road - from its junction with Clooney Road to Killylane Road and, Brisland Road - from its junction with Clooney Road to Killylane road, on Monday, February 22, 2010 for four months.

"Diversionary routes will be signposted via Clooney Road, Ballygudden Road, Killylane Road and Clooney Road. Access will be maintained for premises only," the notice stated.
