Family Dental Care take on abseil challenge

MANAGEMENT and staff at a Ballymoney dental practice are bracing themselves for a charity abseil this Saturday.

Dentists and staff at Family Dental Care in Queen Street are undaunted by the challenge that awaits them at the University of Ulster’s Tower Campus.

Led by Dr. Andrew Brown, five members of staff backed a Support Team of two will take on the heady heights of the Campus, and all are looking forward to raising money for Marie Curie Cancer Care.

The decision to abseil followed a leaflet which was dropped into the Care practice recently.

Dr. Brown explained: “We saw the flyer and we decided pretty quickly to do it as family dental care team.”

Dr. Brown’s commitment was further strengthened when he spoke to someone in his practice whose wife is being nursed by Marie Curie staff.

“He was delighted we were taking on the challenge as are many others. The staff have shown great enthusiasm, particularly the younger ones,” Dr. Brown added.

Taking part are Dr. Brown, Jamie Pirie, Averil Whisker, Amanda Jess, Danielle Wilson and Anne Bell. The support team are Tania Donaghy and Meg O’Boyle.

The team will go in time slots. Anyone who would like to contribute should pop into the Family Dental Centre in Queen Street where donations will be gratefully accepted.
