Have your say in Ballyronan

LOUGH Neagh Partnership is enjoying a cash boost of £119,950 to develop the lough and its waterways destination.

And you can have your say in the projects by attending a consultation event on May 22 in Ballyronan.

Four Local Action Groups (LAG), who were established to deliver Axis 3 of the EU Northern Ireland Rural Development Programme, came together to develop a project for the Rural Development Programme 2007-2013 to fund additional tourism initiatives for the Lough Neagh and its waterways destination.

Lough Neagh Partnership successfully submitted a tender to deliver the project which will run from May to February next year. The project has a number of strands including creation of a new brand for Lough Neagh and its waterways, the development of a Lough Neagh map, an app, a boat user guide, an audit of all Lough Neagh visitor attractions, facilities, activities, accommodation, pubs, restaurants, marinas, facilities, Wi-Fi etc and the development and implementation of a marketing plan.

Lough Neagh Partnership has planned a consultation event to provide an opportunity to feed into three projects; the creation of a new brand, the Lough Neagh Audit and the Heritage Lottery Landscape Partnership Bid. The event will be held on Tuesday, May 21 at 3pm at Ballyronan Marina Centre.
