“Morgan” is being produced by the man behind such box office blockbusters as Blade Runner, Gladiator, Alien and Hannibal - renowned director/producer Sir Ridley Scott, while his son, Luke, is in the director’s chair.

The movie, which it is understood centres round the termination of an artificial being, stars Kate Mara (aka Zoe Barnes in House of Cards), Sideways actor Paul Giamatti and Toby Jones of The Hunger Games.

Earlier this year, Galgorm Castle, which is home to the Brooke family, was a main location for a major new television series - The Frankenstein Chronicles, starring Sean Bean, the tragic hero of series one of the global fantasy hit, ‘Game of Thrones’.

Commissioned for ITV and created by Emmy nominated director and writer Benjamin Ross and writer Barry Langford, The Frankenstein Chronicles will be produced by Rainmark Films and was filmed with funding from Northern Ireland Screen.

Filming of that series, which incorporated elements from the investigative and horror genres, at the historic site was confirmation that Galgorm Castle has joined the list of Northern Ireland’s growing collection of highly desirable television and film locations.
