Malachy Doran, 52, of Church Walk, Lurgan and Paul McConville (55) of Cranny Terrace, Bleary are accused of having €115,000 worth of drugs.

Sligo District Court was told that the family of one of them, Paul McConville, had raised €10,000 in a bid for bail.

Donough Cleary, solicitor for McConville, said he didn’t have an address in the jurisdiction of the Republic but that was “a work in progress.”

He would be making a bail application at a later stage.

Florence Hutchinson, solicitor for the second man, Malachy Doran, said her client was not applying for bail at this stage.

Both men, who were in custody since last Thursday, were further remanded in custody by Judge Kevin Kilrane to appear at Harristown District Court in Castlerea, Co. Roscommon, on December 6.

McConville and Doran are accused of having €115,000 worth of Methylone, an ecstasy-type drug, and having it for sale and supply in a rented house in Bunholvil, Bundoran, Co. Donegal, on November 21.

The men were arrested at Bunholvil by local drugs squad gardai working with Customs officers in an ongoing operation targeting drugs sales in South Donegal.
