No Mean City creating a buzz

LONDONDERRY band No Mean City support Hertfordshire dance punk act My Passion at a free gig in the Oh Yeah Centre, Belfast tomorrow, Friday 26.

The local four piece - a hit on online music initiative Red Bull Bedroom - are also looking for votes from local punters in their bid to win a new music competition that could see them playing some of the biggest festivals around this summer.

The group are looking to their fans to get registering on Red Bull Bedroom Jam, leaving comments and rating their videos.

They are currently in a good postion on the online Red Bull Buzz Chart and have secured a live streaming gig for next Monday, March 29 at 5pm on www.redbullbedroomjam.com.

The winner will go on to tour with a leading act playing at top UK festivals Download, T In the Park and Underage and secure studio time in Red Bull's state of the art studio with a top producer so start voting for your favourite local band!

No Mean City are a female fronted alternative four piece who combine raw riffs, deadly rhythms and authentic vocal hooks guaranteed to catch your ear.

Fresh to the scene but already making an impact, the quartet plan to shake up every thing in their path. Recently featured in Hot Press Magazine as "Hot tip for 2010," and gathering much attention across the country, NMC are set to release their debut EP from 26/3/2010 and have announced a rigorous amount of live shows from February onwards.

Keep your eyes peeled, 2010 is going to be a big year! While they may only be babies in the NI music scene (they formed a handful of months ago) the local act's live shows have already got tongues wagging from those in the know.

Fronted by former model Jilly St John, the quartet's ability to craft a sugary hook over a satisfyingly chunky riff have marked them out to be a very exciting prospect over the next 12 months.
