5. Dave McAuley
Dave 'Boy' McAuley is a former professional boxer from Larne who competed from 1983 to 1992. He held the IBF flyweight title from 1989 to 1992 and challenged twice for the WBA flyweight title, in 1987 and 1988. 7. Valerie Hobson
Valerie Hobson (14 April 1917 – 13 November 1998) was a Larne-born actress whose film career spanned the 1930s to the early 1950s. Her second husband was John Profumo, the British government minister at the centre of what became known as the 'Profumo affair' in 1963. Larne-born Raymond Snoddy OBE is a news media journalist, television presenter, author and media commentator. He was educated at Larne Grammar School and Queen's University in Belfast. After university, he worked on local and regional newspapers, before joining The Times in 1971. He later moved to the Financial Times, before returning to The Times as media editor in 1997.
