13. Michael McKeegan
Michael McKeegan is a Larne-born musician best known as the bassist of rock band Therapy?. The band formed in 1989 when lead singer and guitarist Andy Cairns was a pupil at Ballyclare High and Michael, who attended Larne Grammar with Fyfe Ewing (the original drummer), got together. 15. Michael Hughes
Former footballer Michael Hughes was born in Larne in 1971. After starting his career at Carrick Rangers, he made the move to Manchester City. Spells at Strasbourg and West Ham followed, before a switch to Wimbledon. He also had spells at Birmingham City, Crystal Palace and Coventry City. The attacking midfielder made his debut for Northern Ireland in 1991, going on to make over 70 appearances before earning his last cap in 2004. He scored five times for the national side. 16. Danielle Hill
Larne Swimming Club member Danielle Hill is Ireland's fastest ever female swimmer. She competed in the women's 100 metre backstroke at the rescheduled 2020 summer Olympics. She set a new Irish national record with a time of 1:00.18 in the 100m backstroke, simultaneously posting an Olympic qualifying time for the delayed Tokyo Games.
