Carrickfergus kids' amazing Halloween display raises funds for family support programme PAKT
A group of children from Carrickfergus have once again been raising funds for a worthy cause with a spectacular Halloween display.
Leelan, age 12, and 10-year-old Thompson put together the collection of animatronics and inflatables in the garden of their home on Beechfield Avenue.
This year’s display aimed to raise funds for Carrick-based family support programme, PAKT (Parents and Kids Together).
Their mum explained: “They put their display up the first week of September, and it comes back down on the 1st of November. There is always a collection bucket at the door while the display is up.

“Any money that was raised will go to PAKT to get items for all of the children to enjoy. A lot of us adults also attended PAKT as kids, so the club has a massive place in Carrickfergus people’s hearts. Mo and his team at PAKT are the most wonderful people we have ever met; they are fantastic with all of the Carrickfergus children and also the parents.”
It is not the first time that the local schoolchildren have raised funds for worthy causes with the spooky spectacle.
In 2025, they managed to collect around £460 in support of a local firefighter who needed treatment for cancer.
In previous years, meanwhile, donations towards the Halloween display helped to fund the purchase of new items at Central Integrated Primary School in Carrickfergus.
Supporting Leelan and Thompson’s charity efforts were their friends Sienna, age 12; Jaxon, age 11, and nine-year-old Lilly.
The group worked hard to assemble a staggering amount of treats, including 1000 popcorn bags, 1000 lollies, and 1000 balloons, for other local children who came to see the garden display.
Any leftover treats will then be donated to other kids’ clubs and schools in the area.
“It is truly amazing to watch these five kids, year after year do something amazing for others. We are all so so so proud of them,” Leelan and Thompson’s mum added.
“To anyone who called and donated to them, they would like to say thank you for the support in helping them make a difference also.”
