'˜Scrap business rates'
UKIP's Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Councillor David Jones has called for the scrapping of business rates and their replacement with a profits tax.
“With the news that one in six High Street properties in Northern Ireland are now vacant, the time has come for a serious look at the scrapping of the business rates system,” he said.
“The only fair way to tax any business is to tax its profits.”
