Toddlers from two Cookstown nurseries raise £800 for Barnardo's

Toddlers from Cookstown nurseries Kiddiwinkles Day Care and Care Bear Day Nursery have raised over £800 for children's charity Barnardo's by taking part in a fun-filled pirate themed Big Toddle in aid of the charity last summer.

The little tots dressed up as pirates and donned eye patches to complete a half a mile toddle in order to raise money to support Barnardo’s work with disadvantaged children, young people and families across Northern Ireland.

Lynda Wilson, director of Barnardo’s NI said: “A massive thank you to everyone from Kiddiwinkles and Care Bear Day Nurseries who took part in last year’s Big Toddle.

“The money raised goes directly to our work with children and young people locally and really helps make a difference to their lives.

“Since the Big Toddle started in 1997 it has raised more than £14m across the UK for Barnardo’s and as this year is Barnardo’s 150th anniversary we’re hoping even more toddlers and their families will support us in a series of animal-themed Big Toddles.”
