Bann Wheelers Cycling Club meeting

THE Bann Wheelers Cycling Club will hold a club meeting on Wednesday 20 January at 7.30pm.

The meeting will take place at the Sperrin Club in Coleraine. Cyclists wishing to renew their licenses are asked to do so on the evening. The club would also encourage anyone who is interested in joining the club to attend on the evening.

Members who have not yet paid their deposits for recently ordered kit are asked to do so at the meeting.

Bann Wheelers Prize Winners

The Club would ask that all 2009 prizewinners attend this week’s club meeting with their trophies in order that a group photograph be taken for the local media.

Club Training Runs

The Bann Wheelers riders made the most of the good weather last weekend with training runs taking place on Saturday and Sunday, a wide range of abilities were present as well as ages.

On Sunday 2 groups left the Strand Service Station, the 2nd group headed for the North Coast covering a distance of 40 miles at a conservative pace, with the 1st group heading south through Portglenone and Cullybackey, with the riders completing just under 60 miles when they returned to Coleraine.

The club’s weekly training run meets at the Strand Service Station on the Strand Road in Coleraine on Sunday’s at 9am, weather permitting.

Two training groups will cycle approximately 50 miles, the 1st group will average approximately 18-19 MPH, with the 2nd group averaging 16-17 MPH.

The club would welcome anyone who would like to come along and highlight that the rider can turn off to shorten the distance if they wish.
