The club is inviting all members of the community and local businesses to join them in the Armoy RFC clubhouse at 5pm to listen to a full and concise presentation of their vision for Lime Park.

A spokesperson said: “Over the last six months Armoy RFC have been in consultation with Otium Lesuire Consultancy in order to compile a sports development plan to revamp the entire Lime Park site into a multi sports and community hub for the village of Armoy and surrounding areas.

“This ambitious plan is long overdue for the area which currently has none of the proposed facilities that will be on offer. These proposed facilities would include a fully equipped gym, steam room, 70m x40m floodlit 3G training/football pitch, trim trail around the perimeter of the site taking in views of the local countryside and River Bush. Two sports pitches one of which is to be floodlit.

“There would also potentially be facilities for motor homes/caravans in an attempt to bring some tourist trade to the area. In order to do this the existing clubhouse would be completely demolished and a new 1050m2 community building would be constructed which will incorporate the proposed gym and steam room with male and female changing facilities. This building would also house a large multi purpose hall complete with full kitchen/catering facilities.”
