Challenge Cup game cancelled in total washout for Derriaghy

There was a total washout of cricket fixtures, including Derriaghy’s Ulster Bank Challenge Cup game last weekend, due to heavy rain throughout Saturday.

Their cup game at home to Academy is now due to be played this Sunday at Queensway with a 12 noon start although with so much rain on the ground it must already be in doubt.

If no play is possible on Sunday the two teams will have one more chance to play a 20 over game by next Thursday otherwise it will be decided on a bowl out.

On Saturday Derriaghy are due to travel to Phoenix in Dublin for a National Cup 1st round match with play due to get underway at 12.30.

Again a close eye will be kept on the weather to see if the game can go ahead.

Other club games scheduled this weekend are the Seconds travelling to Carrick while the Thirds are due to play the same opponents at Queensway.
