Scanlon celebrated his first wedding anniversary with Amanda, but instead of taking her for a deserved romantic weekend away he instead helped his home town club see off North Down in the quarter-final of the O’Neills Ulster Cup, today.

The Bready captain conceded that his wife knows that he loves playing sport and she’s very understanding, but he admits that things were a wee bit frosty this morning.

Scanlon spoke to Sentinel Sport’s Editor Kevin McLaughlin before their 53 runs victory over North Down.

Incidentally Bready now face CIYMS and fellow North West men Donemana, who defeated Lisburn this afternoon, travel to Waringstown in the other semi-final tie.
