DARTS: Gurney knocked out of World Matchplay

Gurnley lost 10-2 to world number 12 Ian White, in the first round of the Sky Sports event, at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool.

While elsewhere seeded duo Kim Huybrechts and Stephen Bunting suffered first round defeats.

Belgium’s Huybrechts lost 10-8 to Gerwyn Price, while Bunting was also beaten 10-8 by Mensur Suljovic.

One of the competition’s favourites Adrian Lewis seen off Mark Webster 10-6 and Terry Jenkins, a two-time runner-up, had a narrow 10-7 victory over Justin Pipe.
