“Darragh as player and Assistant Manager deserves so much credit for his leadership and ability to step up when it matters,” he said after the 2-1 win over Craigavon City.

“I know everyone at the club from Committee, the fans and the players hold Darragh in the highest possible regard and he added to his reputation.”

“A very important three points today and for me, while they were thoroughly deserved, we made it hard for ourselves.

“Credit to Craigavon City who showed plenty of commitment and had some good passing but we had the better possession and created lot more chances.

“I made a double substitution with Mark Ervine (who played really well) going up top for a more physical presence and Brian Quilty dropping into midfield where I knew he would see more of the ball and that seemed to work as we dominated the last 10 minutes.

“A great header by Neil Taylor got us level but it is testament to the belief in the squad that they pushed for the winner and another great delivery from Johnny Kernaghan was headed home at the back post by Darragh.”
