Four for Owens in goal spree

Lurgan Town 14 Seagoe 1

LURGAN Town MU under 14s recently hosted Seagoe at the Gordon Playing Fields.

Town made their stamp on the game straight away. While Seagoe played some good tactical football creating chances, they were unable to convert and were certainly up against a strong physical side in Lurgan Town.

Lurgan played a fast paced game which suited them. Town’s strikers of Ryan Lewsley and Criostan McAreavey scored a hat-trick each in the first half. Jamie Brannigan was in the middle of a battle in the box, retrieving a ball, and with perfect timing and power sent the ball into the back of the Seagoe net. Town’s next goal came from Conor Turbitt, his first of two goals, with a lightening run giving the Seagoe

keeper no chance.

In the second half Seagoe continued with determination to attack the Lurgan side, but Town proved too strong and were relentless when attacks. Nathan Owens, who was in top form, put four goals past the keeper. Seagoe’s midfield played a vital role in providing their attacker with a through ball, who lobbed the ball over the Town keeper’s head. Padraig Magee side stepped the Seagoe keeper to put another into the back of the net to end the scoring.

Man of the match was Nathan Owens.
