Friars to join Carrick Rangers

Carrick Rangers boss Michael Hughes has confirmed that former Northern Ireland Under-21 international Sean Friars, released by Dungannon Swifts at the weekend, has agreed to join the Taylor’s Avenue club when the transfer window opens in January.

The 33-year-old forward, was an apprentice with Liverpool for four years and then spent three years with Ipswich Town, making one competitive appearance for the first team,

An FAI Cup winner with Derry City, he has also played with Carlisle United, Portadown, Cliftonville and Newry City amongst others before joining Swifts last January from Institute on an 18-month contract.
