Good start for Town Juniors U10’s

Banbridge Town Juniors Under 10’s commenced their autumn campaign on Saturday with two games at the Lurgan IFA Development Centre, drawing 3 - 3 and 1 -1 respectively.

In the first game, Town went a goal behind but drew level when Ryan Meira hit a neat low shot into the bottom corner. Toby Jones then made a good save to keep the scores level although the opposition twice scored two great strikes to take a 3 -1 lead.

Banbridge showed a lot of character with Finn Martin and Calum Kirmath keeping things tight at the back, while Josh Kerr’s drive kept the team going with Alex Innocenzi pulling a goal back from close range and then Harry Annett curling a low shot into the bottom corner to level the scores.

In the second fixture Banbridge again went a goal behind from a powerful shot but as the match progressed the boys got stronger.

Again the back four of Toby Jones, Finn Martin, Alex Innocenzi and Calum Kirmath held out the opposition with a combination of great defensive duties, while going forward Ryan Meira hit the post with a great shot and then a great run and cross by Josh Kerr allowed Harry Annett to volley low into the net for the equaliser.

Overall a good start again for the boys who continue to work hard - further work on “quick thinking” and “quick feet” can progress the boys in further weeks.

Team Toby Jones, Calum Kirmath, Finn Martin, Alex Innocenzi, Ryan Meira, Josh Kerr, Harry Annett.
