McGovern arrives at City

The Dubliner is also relishing Sunday’s opener at title contenders Shamrock Rovers, in front of the RTE cameras, at Tallaght Stadium (KO 5.25pm).

The Brandywell men have only one real injury concern ahead of the Rovers game with Barry McNamee struggling with a knee problem, while expected new signing Jon Paul McGovern isn’t likely to feature at Tallaght.

The 33-year-old trained with City this morning, but he’s likely to have medical and finalise his deal tommorrow (Friday).

Sentinel Sport’s Editor Kevin McLaughlin spoke to Collins at the Vale Centre just after training, on Wednesday.
