Goalless for Thirds
Bann Thirds headed up north to Castlederg to face last season’s rivals, Derg Valley. After beating Derg Valley to second in the league last season, Bann were keen to follow on from last year.
Bann started strong, with most of the play in their attacking half. Great play by Poppy Robinson and Anna Waugh meant that Bann had some great chances up the left wing. Derg tried to keep Bann out of their circle in the first half but found it difficult with strong attack by Punam McGookin and Jayne Walker.
Going into the second half Derg began to find their feet and made some great runs into the Bann defence. With some great tackles by Gaye Campbell, Bann were able to keep Derg at bay.
Both sides fought until the end, however, no goals prevailed. Final Score Bann 0, Derg Valley 0.
