Better last six hole total earns Bamford win at Galgorm Castle
David Bamford (6) and Neil Candlish (3) were a further point behind with Stephen Mailey (4) another two points behind. Through 16, Logan was still ahead by one point but was being hard pressed by Steele, Bamford and Candlish for the lead.
Black who had fallen back and Mailey were another two points adrift. However an exciting finish lay ahead and only one point separated the six players at the end.

Logan who had led from the beginning had a par, bogey finish where he was joined by Bamford (two pars) and Steele (par, birdie) and with a better last six Bamford took first place. Steele won the Gross and
Logan finished runner-up.
Candlish (bogey, par), Black (par, birdie) and Mailey (par, birdie) finished together and third place went to Mailey with a better last six.
In Division 2 after 13, Henry Cubitt (7) and Terence Martin (8) were vying for the lead with Cubitt one point ahead. Three points behind the leader came Keith Dinsmore (8) and Timothy D’Arcy (8) with Alan Knox (7) another point behind.
Up the Grove and with two to play Cubitt still held a one point advantage from Martin. Cubitt finished bogey, par and held on to his one point advantage for victory. Dinsmore took second place when he finished par, bogey as Martin faltered with a double bogey, bogey to take third place.

Approaching the 14th tee in Division 3 Ian Rainey (9) was one point ahead of Russell McClure (14) who was another two points clear of David McIlroy (9) and Reginald McDowell (8).
The scores remained the same through fifteen but Rainey ‘dinged’ the next and McClure with a bogey took advantage to lead by one point from an improving McDowell (birdie). McIlroy (par) joined Rainey a further point behind.
In a nail-biting finish, McClure who was still ahead with one to play ‘dinged’ the last and was joined by McDowell (two bogeys), Rainey (bogey, par) and McIlroy (bogey, par) and with a better last one McIlroy squeezed into first place with McDowell (better last six) second and McClure (better last six) third.
Twos were recorded by: P Black, T Dawson, J Hunt, S Logan, N Candlish, G Jackson, H Cubitt, M Montgomery and D Robinson.
FRONT NINE SWEEP

After four Kevin McCavera (6), James Logan (8) and Gareth Marcus (9) were vying for the lead two points ahead of John McCarry (5). After a run of bogey, par, par Marcus had opened up a two point gap with two to play over Logan (bogey, bogey, par) who was a point ahead of McCarry (bogey, par, par) with a retreating McCavera (bogey, double bogey, bogey) another point behind.
Marcus ran into bogey trouble over the closing two holes to finish double bogey, bogey. He was joined by Logan (par, bogey) and an improving McCarry (par, birdie) but they were unable to halt a renewed McCavera who finished with two birdies to win by one point with McCarry (BL6) second.
WEATHER HITS FIELD
Fields for the Back 9 and Front 9 Sweeps were somewhat decimated due to the inclement wet weather.
Through 13, William Crawford (9) was ahead of William Kennedy (9), David Stirling (3) and Gary Boyd (5) by two points after opening with a birdie at the Fort.

Approaching the Lowlands, Crawford had increased his lead to three points over Kennedy who was one and two points respectively in front of Boyd and Stirling. Crawford and Kennedy both ‘dinged’ 17 which enabled Boyd (double bogey) and Stirling (bogey) to draw level with Kennedy.
Crawford parred the closing hole for a comfortable four point win with Kennedy (bogey), Boyd (par) and Stirling (par) all finishing together and with a better last six Kennedy came second. David Kernohan (1) won the Gross

Ivan Alexander (8) won the front nine swqeep by a point from Thomas McNeill (5), with David McAleese (8) third.
