Lisburn: Motorists warned of weekend closures during £0.5m resurfacing scheme on A3 Moira Road
Motorists are advised to expect delays during a a £505,000 carriageway resurfacing scheme on the A3 Moira Road, Lisburn, which commenced on Monday (November 2).
The scheme will include essential resurfacing work between Lissue Road and Dagger Road.
Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins said: “This is a substantial investment which will deliver significant benefits for residents and road users and demonstrates my commitment to improving our roads, which is vital for connecting our businesses and communities.
"I would like to thank residents, local businesses, and commuters for their patience while this essential infrastructure work is carried out.”

To minimise disruption during peak traffic periods, the resurfacing works will be carried out Monday to Friday (9.30am to 4.30pm) between Rathdown Road and Dagger Road.
Two weekend closures are also planned as follows:
- From 7pm on Saturday, November 14 until 7pm on Sunday, November 15 between Lissue Road and Rathdown Road;
- From 7am to 7pm on Sunday, November 29, again between Lissue Road and Rathdown Road;
- During road closures, a signed diversion route will be in place via the A3 Moira Road, A26, A30 Glenavy Road, Ballymacash Road, Prince William Road and Knockmore Road.
The Department for Infrastructure says it has programmed the works operations and traffic management arrangements to minimise inconvenience.
However, whilst steps have been taken to accommodate local access, motorists should expect some delays and allow additional time when travelling in the vicinity of the works. Road users should also comply with all temporary traffic restrictions.
Subject to favourable weather conditions, it is anticipated the work will be substantially complete by November 30
