The Championship is one of the most anticipated amateur competitions of the season, attracting some of the most talented golfers in Ireland. This year promises to be no exception with the organisers once again planning to cater for over 300 players, with a handicap of 2.5 or lower, battling it out over five days to win one of the top amateur titles in Irish golf.

Previous participants of the tournament have included some of Northern Ireland golf’s brightest lights including Gareth Shaw, Gareth Maybin, Darren Clarke, Michael Hoey and Rory McIlroy underpinning the Championship’s reputation as the biggest and most successful of the major provincial championships within Ireland.

“On behalf of Cathedral Eye Clinic I am delighted to announce that we have partnered with the GUI Ulster Branch to sponsor the North of Ireland Golf Championship for 2013.

“At Cathedral Eye Clinic, our local consultant surgeons use the very best of technology to provide the safest form of blade-free laser surgery, and also lens replacement surgery for those over the age of 45 who tend not to be suitable for laser or who have cataracts. We invest in state-of-the-art equipment to ensure the best result - a tactic which many golfers also employ.

“We feel it is the perfect match - the game of golf is one of precision and perfection, a vision which we also share.”
